an interview asked Chris Rock if America is ready for a black african american or woman president and he was alleged to have answered:
"why not? we already have a retard!"
it got everyone's hackles up, not so much for calling bush a retard but by equating african american and women to "retard". a little digging revealed the actual quote from an interview with Life magazine: (click on read.more)
"It's ready for a retarded president, why wouldn't it be ready for an African American president? (...) Maybe Barack will win, but I probably won't see a black president. There's real equality when you don't notice [race]. You don't even talk about it. I probably won't live to see that."
he has a point that equality comes when you don't notice race, gender or color - unfortunately, his comedic repertoire mines the very same differences.
