Ksitigarbha
if you're reading this then you're probably a buddhist who is familiar with the story of the King Of Vows. that or you probably thought am coming up with another chic new word. Dizang, Jizō and Địa Tạng are some of the other names attributed to Ksitigarbha as a Mahayana Buddhist Bodhisattva that has made a vow not to attain Buddhahood until all hells are emptied. This is very similar to Christian precepts of great sacrifice for the salvation of mankind. or in the case of Mahayana Buddhism, all sentient beings. I was able to get some pictures of the shrine dedicated to Di Tsang in the Chu Un Temple in Cebu City. I just loved the play of light. Enjoy! Di Tsang King of Vows Chu Un Temple, Cebu City Interesting play of light, the busted one on the left may refer to hell whereas the one on the right is nirvana. how appropriate.
