I'm a Bloody O

met up with ron and red today, ron was supposed to head off to naga but his brother was late (for the millionth time) so i asked him if he wanted to join me and red for lunch. if anyone cares to remember, red was the fellow who suddenly got sentenced to being a goat for the rest of his life when he found out that he is blood type AB. apparently he's the grazing type as majority of meats act like a poison to him except for some in the fowl and fishy type. that conversation sort of piqued my interest in the ever raging war of the weighing scale so i decided to have my blood type tested in HP. my doctor friends were sort of amused by the fact that i can't even remember my blood type. the last time i had it checked was way back in grade school (for some mandatory vaccination that i can't even remember). anyways, when the medtech pulled up a syringe with an impossibly long needle i sorta blurted: "ah miss? i thought you were just going to prick my finger?!" "ah, w...

How Healthy is Your Hair?

Dyos Ko Lhoord. I had tears in my eyes and was gasping for air for a couple of minutes. I am so totally floored by this video. I swear, we filipinos don't take ourselves too seriously and I'm glad for that!!! He he he

Dodong and Inday's Adbentyur in Badian!

just before the official "start" of the rainy season, we decided to travel to fantastic badian (south of cebu) for an overnight beach trip. we didn't plan much but we ended having a real blast exploring the private beach property owned by the Gica's. i guess you can say it's a bit of an accomplishment to get papa dodong to come along as he's never been on a beach / swimming trip for more than four years (that's what he said...) it's just nice to see mama inday enjoy the swim a.k.a. dyesebel. (click on read.more) it rained a bit during the first day towards the late afternoon, on the other hand i love the feel of raindrops on my skin while floating on calm waters. so this is how a prune feels when it's all crinkly he he he. having cool companions made this trip a lot easier, no frills, no fuss just pure enjoyment! this is a trip worth planning again!

El Madrid de Filipinas - Metro Madrid TV Ad

hmmm, i have no patience to explain what this video is. just watch it and then READ my comments. - warning: it can cause hyperventilation from filipinos. click on "read.more" if you get the chance to watch this ad from youtube , you'll find a number of indignant reactions from Filipinos who consider this ad to be racist. the biggest irony of it all is that most of their posts are in spanish. i guess you can take a filipino out of his country but you can not take away the indio part. that aside, there are some interesting things to note about the advertisement: we don't wear the "salakot" anymore, nor do we swing from one tree to another. (believe me, a friend taking up her masters in manchester got asked that question). but the harsh reality is that 80% of the philippines is still considered rural, and another half of our population without access to electricity (pero may cellphone) and basic services (schools and hospitals). on the brighter side, the ad sh...

Breaded Battered Buttered Friends

this post is dedicated to my friends who had their hearts broken by those they considered to be their closest friend. you know who you are. and for those that did the breaking, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE . you should have learned your lesson from janice de belen when she admitted to the world that she is pregnant with aga mulach's son: "God Was With Us". yup, you should have realized that someone was watching YOU. i have your details as a full fledged member of CWL. i am not referring to the the Christian Women's League but to Chismis 'Way Limit . excerpt from the song: Never, saw it coming All of, your backstabbing Just so, you could cash in On a good thing before I realized your game I heard, you're going around Playing, the victim now But don't, even begin Feeling I'm the one to blame 'Cause you dug your own grave, uh huh Lyrics: F i g h t e r Christina Aguilera When I, thought I knew you Thinking, that you were true I guess I, I couldn't trust ...

Moalboal - Not To Be!

Image
okay, pronounce "mall"+"bowl" and you're probably still not going to pronounce that word right he he he. Anyways, this post is a follow up to my previous post where i was carefully debating the merits of going for a marathon or end up on the sandy beaches of mallbowl . tough choice isn't it? yeah right. u-huh, as if i seriously believe that you'll believe that. here's a short video clip showing the sandy coastline of mallbowl . but as they say, the destination is just an ending to a trip. boy, what a looney trip it was. for the visually impaired (click on the image for a bigger pic), err... visually inclined, the map shows moalboal south west of cebu province - that's about two hours drive from Cebu City. while you're on the trail, don't forget to drop by Carcar (the map, click the maaaap) and get some heart clogging, artery busting meaty chicharon (crackling pork rind) - same feeling you get when you fall in love, less the fat. From there...

When Angels Sing

i am humbled. i have never shed a tear listening to someone sing a song. specially not from someone that you least expected such passion and emotion accompanying a voice that sings in the choirs of heaven. paul potts is a mobile phone salesman who joined Britain's Got Talent competition. The judges first looked at him with cynicism as he claimed he just wanted to sing opera and shyly admits that he has confidence issues. in a latter interview, one of the judges admitted to have thought "here we go again..." but after hearing the first four notes, you can SEE they stopped breathing as they hung on until the very last note. the audience were on their feet, perhaps floating on clouds as they gave him a standing ovation. needless to say, he won the competition but this video is his audition. the first from what i suspect will be a long history of angels singing on earth. this is made more interesting considering that he survived his growing up years bullied by his classmates...

i need a hug

there are days that even when i am surrounded by friends and people i know well, i feel completely, utterly alone. the inclement weather the past few days is not helping at all. there are no words to describe this melancholic feeling, nor am i attempting to rationalize the emotion. these are times that i wish for a hug. there are no words needed, no reassuring talk, a simple hug that accepts the feeling as it is and provides comfort. i need a hug, we all need a hug every once in a while. here's a free hug, from me to you .

Wag Po Pader, Wag Po!

am sure if it was a chunky hunky dory dude, pader would have given more than just his blessings. my question is, what was pader doing skinny dipping in the first place? this is truly a woman's worst nightmare ha ha ha.

sunday keys

story goes that alma moreno went to mc donalds and ordered adobo burger with cheese. she was promptly informed that mec donalds doesn't serve adobo as part of their menu. she of course insisted and sang the jingle of their commercial... " adobo-dobo chess chess, barger barger fleas fleas.. " uh, she must have been the voice coach of flash-in-the-pan-ty sexy dumb star alyssa alano who massacred the song "kiss me" with her own version - " keys me ". speaking of killing the english language, melanie marquez must have been a mass murderer with a number of quotable quotes that rivaled the vocabulary and depth of another english serial killer: erap estrada. melanie was invited to a tv show where she was asked if she really said " you are barking at the wrong dog! " to which she promptly answered: " hello, kay alma moreno kaya yun. " and before the hosts could stop themselves from falling off the chair, she quickly added " it's n...

Play Ball

Darn, I'm never going to be able to watch professional sports in the same way again. he he he :)

Balls of Our Lives

Low Hanging. Inverted. Uneven. Hairy. Free Hanging. Balls. Us men have this interesting habit - the need to rearrange our balls every ten minutes or so. Well, if you see a guy going at it every minute that's probably jock itch. Some are more prone to rearranging the crown jewels because of really tight underwear. Whoever thought of t-backs for men should be shot. That piece of string running up your rear-side does not go well with people who have hair in that part of the netherworld. Besides, some men need that extra gravity-defying lift of extra full briefs to support asses that seem to have migrated to south of the border. Anyways, all this sudden interest in nuts was triggered by an article that said Testicle Size Determines How Faithful Your Man Is where the premise that men with bigger balls are bound to sow their wild oats in another field - note the clever use of metaphor to avoid saying penis, vagina and coitus. The article adds another layer of paranoia to an already bor...
