On a trip to San Francisco aboard Philippine Airlines. Ladies and gentlemen, we are landing soon in the San Francisco International Aiport. We hope to see you soon in one of our future flights. We hope you enjoyed your trip and thank you for flying Philippine Airlines." a slight pause... "Para sa mga Pilipinong Pasahero, malapit na po tayong lumapag sa Paliparang Internasyonal ng San Francisco. Paalala lang po na ang unan, kumot, kutsara, tinidor, plato at ang life jacket ay hindi po kasama sa listahan ng mga pasalubong . Maraming salamat at sana ay magkita pa tayo ulit sa mga darating naming paglipad." Note: The picture was taken on a recent flight to Malaysia aboard Malaysian Airlines. I've never been to San Francisco.

Sunday Beauty Tips (",)

just by chance i got to scan what's on tv on a sunday morning and caught cory quirino in "the good life" and she was recommending a milk bath to keep her skin soft. "it doesn't have to be expensive, you can always buy milk in a can." uh, will alaska condensed milk work? somehow, the idea of using nido powdered milk doesn't seem appealing as well. magmukha pa kong espasol. speaking of milk, her program got an email from an avid follower: ------- email follows ------- From: miky way [mailto:milkyway@yahoo.com] Sent: Saturday, April 14, 2007 3:26 PM To: Cory Quirino Subject: Need Advice on Milk Supplements Dear Ms. Quirino, Hope you’re having a wonderfully beautiful day.

Crash and Burn

Microsoft recently released updates for the Windows XP that caused two dynamic link libraries to conflict with each other and caused some error message to pop up every time you boot your computer (click this link for more details and how to resolve this issue). For the non-techies out there, bottom line is: Microsoft made a boo-boo, big time. In any case, I had to re-install a lot of my applications and during the process, it asked me to either copy the installation files locally or run it from the DVD installer. Hoping to make my life less miserable, I chose "locally". What I didn't realize was that it detected my EXTERNAL hard drive instead of the internal storage, formatted, and loaded the installation files. I can hear the groans and moans of people who understood what happened. There goes four years of accumulated knowledge, documents, trackers, music, pictures, porn ... ah i didn't mean to include that, but I have to be honest about missing the knowledge... ok,

Samsung Digital Life - Structures (Part 2)

Image
...Pictures taken using the Samsung SGH-E310 Mobile Phone... I love reading, it allows me to create images in my mind's eye. But as fast as the words register in my mind, so does the images fade from my memory. My digital eye allows me to remember places and images frozen in a single moment. Here's a collection of some striking visuals that has caught my fancy. Angels in Heaven. I stayed in Bambalipitiya, Colombo and the stretch behind the house is the bay walk that faces the Indian Ocean. The sunsets are amazing specially those from Galle Face. This image reminded me of Angels soaring high in the heavens. Colombo features a very interesting variety of cultural influences - from Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, English, Dutch and it reflects in the architecture. Here's a couple of interesting structures - the one on the left is a Hospital (inspired by the Dutch settlers) with amazing brickwork in vivid yellows and red whereas the stark plain white of the mosque to the right with th

Samsung Digital Life - Portraits

...Pictures taken using the Samsung SGH-E310 Mobile Phone... If a picture paints a thousand words, then my trusty Samsung SGH-E310 has painted a good part of my life. The only thing I hate about it is that it also records my bloating waistline. Arrrgh . People in My Life... To the left of this picture is Zaroff, well, the eyes of Zaroff. He has this fascinatng deep-set eyes - and I've always wondered if it is because he lacks sleep or he is the reincarnation of Dopey (of the the Seven Dwarves) in this lifetime. To the right are good friends Asif and Raidah. Asif is in London right now while Raida is off to medical school in China. And yeah, we all met while I was based in Sri Lanka. Abdullah (left) and his brothers own a restaurant in Colombo, Sri Lanka that serves the best submarine sandwiches (beef is the best) - they owned a franchise in Maldives before it got flooded by the tsunami that hit South Asia 2004.
